![]() "Cannot check for the existence of an old redo log for disk" also if anyone can explain why it keeps trying to write to s=1320206336, and if that's a byte value or sector value, cause i dont have that many sectors ![]() the drive has three partitions, although i used diskmgmt.msc to remove the drive letters so the drive wouldn't be "mounted" in vista host. so i can delete the suspend data and start over but the same thing happens. even weirder is that it suspends on that state. i grant, and then the vm starts to load, and then i always get that error. So basically i launch the vmx and vmware pops up a consent for admin privileges. ![]() VirtualHW.productCompatibility = "hosted" must be config version 7 and hw version 3 or i get all sorts of weird file not found, vmdk not found, redo log can't be created, etc.: Vmx| DISKLIB-LIB : Opened "rawdisk5.vmdk" (flags 0xa). Vmx| DISK: OPEN ide0:0 'rawdisk5.vmdk' independent-persistent R\ \PhysicalDrive5' : Failed to issue ioctl 508040: The request is not supported (50). \PhysicalDrive5" failed (Access is denied). Vmx| VMXAIOMGR: system : err=1282 errCode=5 freeSpace=-1 The one problem I have now is access denied messages. I had a lot of problems at first, namely the config version has to be 7 or I get a file not found no matter whether I'm admin or half admin or whatever (Vista host). I finally set up a raw disk, and I did it manually (I couldn't find any other way without installing server).
